International cultures highlighted April 22 at Upper Iowa University

FAYETTE, Iowa (April 11, 2014) – The Upper Iowa University Center for International Education will host the annual International Culture Night on April 22.

To the theme, "Discover Diversity," the evening will feature world music and dance performances by UIU international students and a sampling of international cuisine from 16 countries.

"Many of our international students will be dressed in the traditional clothing of their country, and there will be amazing performances from all over the world," said Leah Bilby, assistant director of international services and recruitment. "The event will give guests an enjoyable opportunity to learn more about different cultures. It's going to be a great night!"

International Culture Night will be from 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, April 22, in the Student Center Ballrooms on the second level of the UIU Student Center. The event is free to the public. Goodwill donations may be made to the Polaris Project, an initiative to end human trafficking.
Upper Iowa University is among the most diverse campuses in Iowa, with 30 nations represented among UIU students.
